baptism in Shiribeshikawa
Past I really wanted to spend night in my tent. Just to see if the sleeping bag had increased the nocturnal freezing temperatures, or whether the first nights I would probably rather stay in a hotel Rider. In addition, Natsumi and Takashi
are touching concern for my well and offered me several times, I can remain as long as I wanted. However, this would mess up my plans a lot and although I now feel at home here and was intigriert completely into the family, I feel that it is now time to go.
But it was my whole plan ... And so began my first adventure.
my tent I had already built up in the morning and it went so well with the pegs in the loose Snow assured. So we had a nice evening. The children and Takashi were in badminton and that is why Jamie and I saw "Beauty and the Beast" while Natsumi baked eagerly. It was quite late and when we did about half past nine on the way to our cabin, it had long been grim.
Jamie asked, where is my tent and I would leutete with my little LED light on the place where I had left it in the morning.
Just that there was no tent more. Unfortunately, it was
very dark because no moon, so we felt our way in the tiny beams of light vorwaerts our lamps and tried the shadow of my tent blew probably only way to identify. The good thing about him is yes, that it so easily, so even though not very stable.
My panic grew as five minutes after we still had not found it. Not only lacked the tent, even the good pegs and my recently acquired, this tent tailored extra underbody, was to take me additional protection against cold, wet and sharp stones.
Jamie realized at that moment yet, the tent should have fallen into the river, it would be very likely lost.
said makes me completely worried, because the river is currently swollen and so rapid, that there would be little chance of it ever again.
So moved us towards the river, I looked in the raging water and I turned slightly to the stomach. In that moment I knew that Jamie was right.
Suddenly, however, they pushed me out of the corner and pointed with her lamp to a spot in the river on the other side, the two tree trunks had jammed together. And there, half submerged in the floods, my little tent hung lonely on one of the tribes and fought stubbornly against the tide ...
At first I was overcome with relief.
But how should I get there? The Shiribeshikawa is currently wide at the three to four meters and who knows how deep.
What should I do?
Jamie had luckily kept her head on his shoulders and immediately alerted Takashi. As this However came, he could give me little hope.
morning he would try, if it would be bright. Now he could do nothing. However, he assured me that the tent had become so filled with water that it would probably rather not expelled. It was also fortunately this very spot where it hung not bathed quite as strong.
And it was only a tent, which I should not forget.
came to me at this moment, however, the tears. This tent was not just a piece of cloth and some metal bars.
It was my home! And for the coming year.
belonged addition, not even me, but was on loan from my aunt ...
But the fact remained the fact that We initially could not do anything. It was too dangerous.
So I went and still bent through tears in the cabin, where at least have my air mattress and my sleeping bag were safe. (I had the morning playing with the idea to bring them schonmal into the tent to get it on the evening with pleasant find, however, does not end luckily did)
I do not need to mention that I could carry on that night, no eye .
appeared constantly before me the picture of my on from the floods carried away and completely torn by sharp-edged wooden tent.
at half past one I could stand it no more.
I went out to make me that all this was not a dream if my tent was probably still there.
There it hung, as we had left it. It almost broke my heart to see it there, so helpless. But I could not do anything. Moreover, it was raining and quite cold.
So I went on that night a second time on my couch in the Heutte to me until dawn herumzuwaelzen and to try at least a little sleep.
When I opened my eyes the next time it was after all, shortly after five and bright enough to be able to see without light.
I dressed warmly and went again to the prominent location in the flow.
First, I got a mild shock. The tent was gone.
But then I saw a few meters a square piece of green canvas like a finger from the water tower. It lay on the bottom of the river and was easily the waves tossed about. It looked almost peaceful ...
I still did not know what to do, I went in search of the second floor and the tent pegs. If I should find at least two or three, I would be happy, I told myself.
What I found first was the second plane. She lay zusammengeknuddelt and adversely affected by rain water in some lakes close to our log cabin.
Glad I picked them up and hung it above the power cord that always supplied us with light, to dry. (It was raining still wet but they could not always be)
Herring I found none.
So I went a bit along the river bank. Just to see if they could not translate easily to another location ...
such a point, I was not a hundred yards away. Two fallen trees formed a natural bridge and actually looked as if it were possible to cross them getting wet.
said leads me naturally to euphoria and I wanted to test the same time, the upper stem is not too slippery. A few inches of snow at the end of the stem but initially difficult to enter and I tried to kick off a little snow. Before I knew it
However, I was sitting astride the trunk and my feet dangling in the cold water. Now that I was half wet already times, prevented me not care any more, to risk the crossing. Unfortunately, the strain
was really slippery. I immediately slipped on the side and now I go to the hips in the water that pulled heavily on my clothes.
Merkwuerdigerweise I was not cold. Perhaps the shock. But then I really could not do anything more worse, I ventured into the trunk along a few steps in the flow. He was far too rapid, and I knew I had no chance to get safely to the other side.
So I had beaten me wet poodle and crawled under some difficulty back to the shore. I was still not really cold, but I was afraid a cystitis and therefore went I was quickly back to the hut, where I just changed my clothes and then back again to the river return. There I waited in the drizzling rain, until (it was about seven clock) Takashi, Natsumi and Jamie came.
He was wearing a rubber suit that gave him up to his chest and in no time he had placed a ladder over the river, was hinuebergekrabbelt and pulled my tent in parts of the water. Two pegs were lost, but I had my home again!
I could not see as fast as he was back with us and together we hung the dripping plan on a string, which he had for me tense. (The power cord was too dangerous, he said what he had right of course)
In general, I felt a bit silly at this moment before. Especially when Natsumi me also released the day and spoiled me wrapped in a blanket before the hot stove, with its magnificent ginger tea. I can never make up for
what this family has done for me already!
Jamie christened the tent after his adventure on the way, the name "Lucky" and said it was really a very strong tent, because it had all of this went well and without a crack.
Now, however, delayed my departure to 3 May
I do not want to break things with dripping wet and tomorrow begins the season on soft ice Takara farm. Natsumi would like to sell their goodies and I wanted some of the nice to see people back to say bye and exchange addresses.
you hear from me so later from Sapporo.

Best Art Software For Mac
My third day off I spent with Jamie, Takashi and the children in Sapporo.
It was there, too Natsumis free day and so we left at half past nine in the morning in which six people for far too little car.
drove with the children on the lap we initially but a friend of the family over to the bigger Van borrow. (The wife of this friend lived ten years in Switzerland. Now I'm out gewoeht to hear Japanese speak German, so I luckily some good Japanese friends in Germany, But to hear a Japanese speaking Swiss German sounded really funny. However, my ears were happy about these few words of home)
in the van now everyone had a place for themselves and so the journey zweieinhalbstuendige very entertaining. I tried to memorize the route that I would put back a week later with the bike have to.
(At some points it is quite hilly, but I'll take a break in the vicinity of a Onsenhotels where you must use the onsen separately. (Recommendation of Natsumi. Today I will spend the night in a tent to calm them, I can hervorzukrabbeln alive the next morning it)
arrived in Sapporo, we visited a Japanese joint Flea market. Unlike the Germans, I know, but this was comfortably housed in a huge hall and everything remained dry, while outside wechselmuetiges weather prevailed.
Unfortunately, I found nothing useful, though many things tempted to buy. Japanese sell even the same Kruscht as the Germans, however, that things are compared to ours in mint condition.
After the flea market and a short detour to Takashi's parents we parted ways at the great shrine of Sapporo. Jamie and I wanted to take some time for us and the others would as long as a few visiting friends.
Sapporo I liked at first sight very much. Not necessarily, because it particularly handsome , but there are one or the other nice area and the city is not as crowded. One must not apologize after every second step, because it collides constantly and you feel not so auffalled than Europeans. The people hardly pay any attention, which I found very pleasant.
We visited some of the sights, which I liked the TV tower at best. You have a great view from above and only one becomes aware that the whole city is surrounded by mountains kesselfoermig. Beautiful mountains to be exact! However, I also realized that there is a very big city ...
In any case, I'm looking forward to be able to spend a whole week there. Then I will buy a few last Taschenbuecher and some new socks. :) (Natsumi has helped me with their English literature very much and I've read so far impressed by Treasure Planet, The Old Man of the Sea and Prince Caspian Books are something that I missed really very early)
the next one. probably only post I make from Sapporo, because tomorrow is my last day here. I am very excited!

Rash On And Pain In Right Arm
My donkey is my first trip plow horse
Now I have to also take a success of my wiry Friend's set here. Indeed, it is also entered into service with my family. As a young farm horse.
Twice he has already helped me to carry heavy loads by means of a hand cart, which I befaestigt on his luggage rack. Once there were several sacks
ash for the fields (we sprinkle it to the snow to melt faster and as a first fertilizer) and the other time he dragged me for several empty boxes to the neighboring farm four miles away, where we once again had to fetch wood. However, the boxes too large to bring it back filled, so I asked Natsumi, where they later pick up by car.
But it is incredibly handy when working elsewhere is doing and no one is there or has time for me to go there. So I'm at least a little self and my donkey was also proud to be able to help. :)

Herpes On Bikini Line Single Bump
I is my first free day (a week I had one of these too) spent to Date a camera (which can only Japanese) and a cell phone (which here in Otaki no reception) has to buy, I wanted to spend my second day off with a little more pleasant.
It was a Saturday morning and we all went to the village because it was Parents' school in Ikkyous. Of course, I did not miss me anyway because I had never seen a Japanese school Viewed from the inside. We could watch in a lesson that was very cute, because Ikkyou goes first to the second class.
And anyway because I wanted to try out my bike on Japanese soil, I packed it along with a packed lunch from Natsumi in the morning with the car. The village is about 20 miles from my new home away. However, we live in a very mountainous area, so that would be enough for now.
After the lesson was so complete, began the part that lead in the talks with the parents and teachers. For me not be interesting because I was not As for anything anyway and I would have understood. So I grabbed my food bag and went on my way.
Natsumi had yet shown me the night before, where I would find a beautiful waterfall and an insider tip on my plan yet shown a road that would have made one of the most beautiful views. With these goals, I started to drive away. First course in the wrong direction. I found that out but until I get out of breath (I was just a mountain hinaufgestrampelt) my rate went to compass ... But the next attempt, I found the correct turn and drove for a while along the main road.
The drivers were all very considerate and I always drove around in a wide arc. So this section of line not as stressful, as initially feared.
The turnoff to Sangaidaki (triple waterfall) I found this time in straight away and then cycled delights of a nearly empty road that led through beautiful mountains.
on target (a small parking lot with a closed gift shop and public toilets! He has handsome log cabins) arrived you could hear the roar from afar and noise of the waterfall. But I did not see him. There were also no signs that would have described to me, I would have to go in that direction. Only a small river flowing leisurely and not aroused the impression that he wanted to, will soon plummet. So I was forced
my limited vocabulary and scrape together to address a man who was driving with his daughter's sled. To my relief He was very friendly and laughed a lot and his detailed description I've even seen. A small triumph, where I can do it very often.
following his instructions so I went to a small trail that led over a bridge after a while the waterfall. And it was really a very nice view that was offered me there.
In the summer it would certainly have been more pleasant, because after an hour's rest but it was very cold. At least I had just cycled (with detour) 15 km uphill and had no change of clothes there. So after I had eaten my lunch half and made a brief detour to a nearby mountain to admire the Canadian Totempfaehle established there, I set off again for the second point of my day trip.
The signs did indeed lead me astray, but luckily I listened to my instincts and took the first little road to my Right bot. For a while, but I was not sure if my decision was really, really, but the environment was definitely pretty and even if I'm wrong would be bent, this was despite the mountainous nature of a pleasant route. In addition, the compass always pointed unequivocally to the south, I drove so well, at least in the desired direction.
Surrounded by fragrant needle, stunning mountain scenery, and occasionally a ray of sunlight So I went a while leisurely, until I in front of me suddenly on the street A strange animal looked great. Although much too small for a bear I could not quite place at first. It reminded me of an animal that I had ever seen.
There hobbled, I was with my bike faster and it could not disturb me, but trotted in front of him when I drove past him. And then I realized that this was a kind of raccoon. However, he was not black and white like the ones I knew, but only brown. Natsumi later explained me that I had seen a Japanese raccoons, a Tanuki. What put me in astonishment, however, was the size of the animal. This could Tanuki it up from the prolonged fasting with my bike, was very thick and I do not like it would be closer come when he would have had one good leg.
At the time I could not know that I would face two days later again such a being. pile up eye to eye with wood. Unfortunately, I've got
not a good photo of him because he disappeared shortly after in the forest. But when he turned one last time, I could still press the shutter button.

Brother Sister Wrestling
The first few weeks, Part 2
Today, as I have the good luck to the morning on his own (Ikkyou is at school and the rest of the family is with the New Zealander, who shares the past two days, the small cabin with me to date) I take this opportunity to my blog to get things back on track.
The family is very nice and they cared for me. Even if it means that one's children follow the footsteps of the past two weeks and I was hardly alone. We spend the whole day and night I fall into bed dead tired at nine!
For two days I am also not alone there, but live with the New Zealander Jamie, is there also spend about two weeks. She speaks fluent Japanese, however, and therefore my life has changed a bit here. Previously, my host mom has
Natsumi for me translated into English, but now they all talk so much with Jamie in Japanese, that she probably does not want to anymore. And because I still do not really understand much of this language, it is sometimes a little frustriernd to laugh, and can not only dabeizusitzen.
So I take every opportunity to be able to perform work outside. I've tried a few things and make them all fun. Above all, feeding the lambs, which for a few days with us and were walking with the dog Lucky, who is sitting still on their Hundehuette as if Snoopy her greatest role model.
But there are also more strenuous activities: I have tons geschippt of snow, so you come in various pens or pieces of wood can stack up there. The latter I do now for almost a week. The family has namely the total wood stock of a neighbor and we are now putting them on carts to and from here, and pile up ... I hope we will soon be finished.
Otherwise, I'll help a lot in the home: washing dishes, Slopes and hanging out the laundry, clean, light a fire for the bathroom, etc. Here is
namely heated with wood, which explains the incredible amount of work stack. There
power are there, but the family would like to live economically as possible. Hence my little kingdom every night is bitter cold, until I lit the fire in the stove and I snuggled into my futon.
So it is probably not surprising that I have caught myself in the second week here a proper cold that I have, despite the good ginger tea by Natsumi were not quite over yet. This is probably even last a while because I still have to get up at six to Ikkyou for adopting the school, with Lucky before the walk to breakfast and then outside to do my work. And if I'm inside, do the children play. So I'm hardly recover to me.
As for the children, I thought they would be worse, but less strenuous. You want to be entertained constantly, even if I have to do just outside work. They are constantly on the quarrel, make junk and annoyed her eight-month-old sister ... Rouwdies right. Therefore, the first new words I've learned "Abunai" (dangerous), "dame" (let it) and "yamete" (listen to)
especially because the language I can not really, it's very tiring to small to make it clear what I want from them. But otherwise we are quite well together, I think.
But even if it is ever so familiar and friendly, so is the lack of space for something that consumed much time on the nerves. I have my own cabin, but there I may pull back until the evening ...
So I hope that soon the snow melts and there is generally a little warmer. But in any case, I will saddle up to the end of April my bike and explore Hokkaido. :) As far as
got what my everyday life here are concerned. :) Mata ne
